Rainy day activities for kids
If the rainy weather is keeping you indoors and the kids are going stir crazy, head into The Strand these school holidays. From 5th to 16th January (Monday to Friday 1pm – 3pm), the kids can unleash their creativity on a giant chalkboard and stencilled artwork in the Strand’s Atrium. So you can get your shopping done (or relax with a coffee!), while the kids get creative.
Looking for more ways to entertain the kids?
• There are plenty of kid-friendly movies on during the school holidays, such as Big Hero 6, Penguins of Madagscar, Paddington and Paper Planes. Plus you can SAVE with a Family Pass at Birch Carroll & Coyle Coolangatta. Find session times here
• Cooking with the kids is a great way for kids to learn about food, and you’ll be surprised at what they’ll eat when they are the chef! Homemade pizzas are fun and easy to make, or if it’s too hot to cook, make some snacks to cool you down, like iced fruit kebabs or smoothies.
• Get out your old sheets, blankets and cushions and the kids can build a cubby house using chairs and tables. Or, you can set up an indoors obstacle course with cushions, pillows, boxes, chairs and blankets.
