That’s a Wrap on Festive Fun at The Strand!
What an incredible December it was at The Strand! Our Festive Fun events saw over 600 local friends and families coming together for workshops, performances, and festive cheer, making it a season to remember.
Kicking Off with Mastery Schools Australia’s Gold Coast Show Choir
The holiday spirit came alive with the enchanting performance of Mastery Schools Australia’s Gold Coast Show Choir. They graced The Strand with not one, but two cheerful sets of carols, filling the Centre with joy and melody. The choir, which brings together talented students from Coolangatta, Varsity Lakes, and Southport campuses, practiced for nine weeks before their first unified performance with us. We were honoured to host their debut and look forward to having them back next year to launch another festive season!
Workshops That Wowed
As the weekend rolled in, so did our highly anticipated Festive Fun Workshops. Our wreath-making sessions were an instant hit, selling out in just two days! Guests crafted stunning evergreen or white snow wreaths under the expert guidance of local florists, ensuring every creation was a masterpiece.
Our ever-popular Gingerbread House Making workshop kept the excitement alive, delighting families and sparking creativity across all age groups. Each participant received an Australian-made gingerbread house kit, complete with vegan-friendly toppings and piped icing, to design their edible dream house.
Spreading Cheer with Music
Adding to the festive atmosphere were the delightful tunes of the Voice Weaver Choir and the unique melodies of the Coolangatta Ukulele Group. Their performances spread joy throughout The Strand, making each weekend a celebration of community and music.
Sweet Treats at the North Pole Bakehouse
In the days leading up to Christmas, our North Pole Bakehouse became the sweet spot for festive fun. From reindeer cookies to elf cupcakes, we offered five days of delightful treats for Santa’s littlest helpers. No bookings were required, making it a welcoming stop for families seeking a festive Christmas event filled with fun and holiday spirit.
